The CBP Newsletter #1

Welcome to my first Newsletter!

I’m glad you are here.
The CBP Newsletter is for bring it all together, and keeping you up to date.  Let’s catch up!

Hello World!  My name is Chris, and I teach guitar lessons.

NEWS:

What's New?

Facebook Guitar Lessons Group:

I host a Facebook Guitar Lessons Group where friends and former students gather to catch up.  My favorite part of teaching is seeing my students succeed, and this group has become a great place for that.  We connect, set up jams, and share updates about our new songs and gigs.  My main goal as a teacher is to help my students realize their long term goals for music, and it’s very rewarding to see it work long term.  If you are interested in joining the Facebook Guitar Group, let me know!

Classical Guitar Lessons:
Recently I made a series of short videos explaining what a classical guitar practice session would look from The Carcassi Method.  The Carcassi Method is my favorite because it uses similar parts (also known as motifs) throughout to teach the student to read music in many different keys quickly and easily, and there’s plenty of theory and technical examples.  You can watch the video here, and read more about it on my Music Lesson Blog here:

Classical Guitar Introduction
Allegro would be easy after practicing the Classical Lesson mentioned above.

WRITER:

The Five Whys

We've got a problem.
We want to solve it, but we don't know how.
That sucks, so let's make it a game.

The goal of the game is to land on a "what" or a "how".
We are looking for a statement of "falsifiable fact".
Not because I said so, or it just is. Not popular opinion, cultural myth, or dogma.
We are looking for facts, foundational knowledge, so we can solve a problem...

TEACHER:

Music Brings Big Smiles!
This is Luke, and he enjoys learning new songs. Listen to him learning Dirty Deeds by AC/DC, and don't miss that huge smile on the end!

Thanks for reading!
Don’t forget about the Facebook Guitar Group.  There are thirty members now, and it’s a lot of fun!

One of my favorite things is to hear from my former students, and I'd love to hear from you. Definitely let me know what you are interested hearing more of from me. It helps.

Thanks,
Chris Phelps
